RSSI stands for Received Signal Strength Indicator, and is a common name for the signal strength in a wireless network environment. It is a measure of the power level that a receiver is receiving from the beacon's transmission. All of our beacon RSSIs are presented as negative numbers -- so it's important to remember that, for example, an RSSI of -50 is stronger than -95.
When configuring a Place, RSSI settings can be tuned to allow for more accurate arrival and departure from that Place without every having to reconfigure the Gimbal beacon itself. This is especially useful when using more than one beacon to define a place with a higher degree of accuracy.
