How do I activate a large number of beacons?

A bulk manifest CSV file is available from Gimbal support for any Gimbal Store Order - simply Submit a Request for it and provide your order number.

We'll provide you a link to CSV file that has all of the Factory ID/Activation Codes for the beacons on that order. You can then modify this file with settings you'd like to use (for instance names, attributes, places, etc.) before using the bulk upload feature within the Gimbal Manager web portal.

To bulk import beacons, click 'Beacons' on the left menu in Gimbal Manager > Beacon Management -> then click 'Import CSV' and select your .csv file.

You may bulk activate up to 2,000 beacons per CSV file with the following columns:

name*, id, factory-id*, latitude, longitude, visibility*, configuration, create place

- Header row is required.
- Columns with * are required when activating a beacon.
- Only factory-id is required when updating a beacon.
- Fields that are not required or being updated can be blank.
- 'Create Place' column indicates that a Place should be auto-generated for the beacon (defaults to false).
